Our goal with FinWise is to help people be better at managing their personal finances, and to worry less about money. We fundamentally believe that the world would be a better place if fewer people worried and stressed about their money. For us, achieving this goal comes first, profit comes second.
FinWise is affordable and sustainable
FinWise charges up to 40% less than our competitors, and we have transparent and sustainable pricing. Making FinWise affordable to our customers is extremely important to us, and we are able to do so whilst still being profitable and sustainable as a business.
What FinWise is NOT
We get asked a lot about whether FinWise overlaps with other products people already use. Here is what FinWise is not, so you can decide whether it fits the gap you actually have.
- Not a bank or a neobank. FinWise reads your bank data via secure aggregators (Plaid, GoCardless, Gathr). We do not hold deposits, issue cards, or move money.
- Not a broker or robo-advisor. FinWise tracks your investments alongside everything else, but does not buy, sell, or recommend specific securities.
- Not a credit-monitoring service. FinWise does not pull your credit report or score. If credit monitoring is your primary need, products like Credit Karma fit that gap.
- Not a tax-filing app. FinWise helps you understand your year-round spending and income, but you still file taxes through TurboTax, FreeTaxUSA, or your accountant.
- Not US-only. FinWise supports the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and South Africa out of the box — unlike Mint, Monarch, Simplifi, and YNAB, which are US-first.
- Not single-currency. FinWise natively supports multi-currency accounts with real exchange-rate conversion, so your net worth makes sense if you hold USD, EUR, GBP, and ZAR.
