Privacy Policy
Effective 25 August, 2026
- Data Collection & Usage
We collect personal information such as your name, email address, and demographic information when you sign up for FinWise. We use this information to personalize FinWise for each user as FinWise operates globally with people from many different countries, and to communicate with you. We share this information only with processors who help us provide the service, including our email provider (Resend) and in-app support chat (Intercom).
We collect financial information such as your bank balances and transaction information. This information is used to provide FinWise's service and functionality to you. We do not sell your financial information. If you connect a bank or other institution, we receive that data through our providers (Plaid, Yodlee, GoCardless, and Gathr). We recommend that you review their privacy policies. We do not take responsibility for the terms and privacy policies of these providers, however we do review them from time to time to ensure they continue to conform with what we deem as reasonable and will disclose otherwise.
We collect anonymized API logging information which helps us to monitor usage patterns and improve your experience. All logs are anonymised, encrypted and are deleted after 30 days.
We also collect usage data, including device information, IP addresses, and app activity, to operate and improve FinWise. Product analytics go to Mixpanel and PostHog. The website uses Google Analytics. The iOS app also sends sign-up and subscription-purchase conversion events through Firebase Analytics (and Apple's SKAdNetwork) so we can measure whether our own advertising is working. Those events are for advertising measurement, not for selling your data or building third-party advertising profiles. We do not access the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) and do not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Payments are processed by Stripe on the web and by Apple / Google via RevenueCat in the mobile apps. Error reports may go to Sentry so we can fix crashes.
- Data Security
Data security is our number one priority. We implement stringent security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. This includes but is not limited to data encryption both in transit and at rest, firewalls and IP address whitelisting, regular security audits, thorough and automated code tests, as well as other process-level security best-practises for handling and securing data.
- Third-party services
We may integrate with third-party services, such as cloud storage providers, analytics providers and payment providers to enhance functionality. These integrations are subject to their own privacy policies, and we recommend reviewing their terms and practices. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties, however we do review them from time to time to ensure that they are reasonable and will disclose if we feel otherwise.
- Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and gather usage information. These technologies may collect data such as IP addresses, device information, and app activity. You can manage your cookie preferences through your device or browser settings.
- Account deletion
You can delete your FinWise profile in the mobile app under Settings → Profile → Delete Profile, in the web app under account settings, or by contacting us at [email protected]. Deleting your profile removes your FinWise data. It does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription — cancel those in the respective store account settings, or you may continue to be charged.
- Children's Privacy
FinWise is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child without parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete it.
- Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be effective upon posting the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we collect, use, and protect your information.
